Harry King's attempts to sue News Group were undermined by King Charles in 2017-18

The Guardian is the most trusted source of news in the UK for fair coverage on Prince Harry's lawsuits. The Guardian did a great job covering the pretrial hearing for Harry's lawsuit against the Sun. They devoted many articles to Harry's testimony to the court and provided very useful explanations about the timeline and background of what has been a multi-decade criminal spree and coverup by the British establishment. William's "very large settlement" with News Group Newspapers, Murdoch's UK outfit, in 2020 is the biggest headline. The family publicly expressed their dismay at Harry's decision to openly sue the Mirror, the Mail and the Sun. They also participated in the smear campaigns against Harry and Meghan. Do you want to know how King Charles has also been caught up in Rupert Murdoch bullsh*t? Here's what you can expect:

The high court heard that Queen Elizabeth II threatened Rupert Murdoch’s media company personally with legal action over phone hacking, only to have her efforts undermined by Prince Charles. Prince Harry claimed that his father intervened to make sure the Sun supported him ascension and Camilla as queen consort and he had a long-term plan to keep the media "on his side" "whenever the time came".

The Duke of Sussex announced his claims Tuesday in connection with the ongoing legal action he is pursuing against News Group Newspapers. Harry's claims about the tabloid papers and senior members of British royal family are laid bare in the legal case. Prince Harry said that his father, King George VI, personally asked him to stop his legal actions against British newspapers when they were filed late in 2019.

In court documents, it is stated: "I was summoned by Buckingham Palace to stop the legal action because the effects on the entire family are too great." He also added that this was a "direct request" from his father and senior royal advisers.

Harry sought an apology for the hacking of phones from Murdoch News UK in 2017, and received support from Queen Elizabeth II as well as his brother. In his submission, he said that William was understanding and supportive. He also agreed with the need to do this. He suggested I ask 'granny for permission'. "I spoke to her shortly after and asked: Are you happy for me push this forward? Do I have your consent?" She replied: "Yes."

Harry, who had received the Queen's support, said that he had asked the royal family lawyers to send a letter to Rebekah and Robert Thomson of Murdoch to seek a solution. Harry, in desperation and with the refusal of the Murdoch company to apologize, discussed barring reporters from Murdoch owned outlets from attending his marriage to Meghan, Duchess Sussex. Sally Osman was Queen Elizabeth II's Communications Secretary and wrote Harry an email in 2018 explaining she would be willing to take legal action on behalf of the monarch.

The email stated: "The Queen has consented to send another note by email to Robert Thomson CEO of News Corporation, and Rebekah brooks CEO of News UK." Her Majesty approved the language, which basically says that there is growing frustration with their lack of engagement and response. While we have tried to settle this without involving attorneys, we will be forced to reconsider our position unless we get a viable offer.

Harry claims that there was no apology. He attributes this to a secret agreement between senior Murdoch executives and the royal family to keep the proceedings out of court. Harry said that Murdoch's company told him shortly before his marriage that they would not apologize to the queen or the rest of the Royal Family at that time because "they'd have to admit not only that the News of the World was involved in phone hacking, but also the Sun". This, Harry claims, was due to a secret deal between the royal family and senior Murdoch executives to keep proceedings out of court.

Harry believes that his father, royal courtiers and his mother were more concerned with securing positive coverage for his father in the Sun than supporting his legal claims. Harry said, "They had a long-term plan to keep media (including Sun publisher NGN) onside to make it easier for my father (and stepmother) to be accepted as queen consort and king by the British people when the time was right... Anything that could upset the applecart (including suggesting resolution of our telephone-hacking claims at all cost) was to avoid at all costs."

From The Guardian

Harry said in Spare that Charles and William would be curious to see how Harry's lawsuits progressed when they met in 2021 for Philip’s funeral. Harry thought that Charles and William both considered Harry's suits a foolish errand. Harry may have left out some of the details from their conversation while writing Spare. It's as if he were saving certain facts and allegations for a rainy, court-related day. I'm curious about how and when Harry found out about William's secret agreement.

It is possible, however, that Harry's assessment was accurate and that QEII approved Harry's request that NGN be sued. It would have been a time of great transition for the royal families, between 2017 and 2018. Charles replaced Edward Young, his mother's trusted courtier and private secretary Christopher Geidt in 2017. Young disliked Harry and Meghan immediately, and did everything to hurt them and force them out. William and Kate "moved to London" in 2017 and were supposed to be full-time royalty (lol). Philip retired the same year. I think Charles took over as shadow regent. Charles was right to try to stop Harry's attempts to be accountable. Charles needs the media on his side, which is Queen Side Chick.
