King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted an event for the Windrush Generation

Yesterday marked the sixth anniversary since the Grenfell Tower Fire of 2017. This 2017 disaster claimed the lives of 72 men and women, including children. It also displaced hundreds Grenfell residents - many of them immigrants and peoples of color. The Windsors didn't mark the anniversary at all. They did nothing. King Charles and Queen Camilla instead hosted a "reception", at Buckingham Palace, to mark the 75th Anniversary of the HMT Windrush arriving in the UK.

The King and Queen were in high spirits as they hosted an event at Buckingham Buckingham this afternoon to commemorate the 75th anniversary since HMT Empire Windrush arrived in the UK. BBC News anchor Clive Myrie, whose parents were from the Windrush generation who travelled to the UK during the 1960s, joined the newly crowned King and Queen. The event also featured veteran journalist Sir Trevor McDonald as well as former Loose Women panelist June Sarpong, and Jamaican born entrepreneur Levi Roots.

Samantha Sung designed a chic dress with a green and white print that was buttoned down. She completed her look with a delicate gold pendant necklace, and pearl earrings.

The royal couple will unveil ten new portraits of Windrush elders at the historic event today. The pieces of art were commissioned by the King in 2022, when he was the Prince of Wales. The Windrush Portraits Committee, which is chaired Baroness Floella Bennion, carefully selected the subjects. Portraits to pay tribute Windrush Generation, and their lasting impact on the UK. The portraits were painted by Black artists that King Charles personally chose.

On June 22, 1948 the former troop ship Empire Windrush arrived in Britain, carrying Caribbean people who responded to an advertisement offering tickets at PS28 (roughly PS1040 today) for those who wanted to work in Britain. More than half a millon Windrush migrants left the West Indies between 1948 and 1970 to immigrate to Britain.

The Daily Mail

The Windsors were too busy trying to whitewash Britain's treatment towards the Windrush Generation that they couldn't help Grenfell. I think it's all a part of the same story.

There is no word on whether Susan Hussey attended yesterday's Windrush event. She was brought back to the fold after "resigning from her position" last December. She attended the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II last month. I'm sure Hussey attended the coronation yesterday. "But where are YOU FROM?"
