Prince Harry was told that he couldn't "hire" police because he didn't need protection.

It's hard to understand the unhinged arguments that "commentators” are making about Prince Harry's desire to pay for his security in the UK. Part of me believes that the British media are just making sh*t about Harry's terribleness because they didn't expect him to make his statement. Because Harry has made it clear that he will pay for his security, they can't argue anymore that Harry needs to pay. The new argument is that Harry is a terrible person because he wants to cover the security of his family and himself. He believes he is a legitimate target for terrorists and violent white supremacists.

A former head of royal protection warned that Prince Harry cannot choose when he wants protection in the UK. Dai Davies stated that the Duke of Sussex shouldn't expect bodyguards when he returns home.

This comes just as sources suggest that the Queen won't help her grandson with his request for security personnel in Britain. According to insiders, the Monarch is not willing to compromise his demands for protection from the Met or Home Office.

Yesterday's outrage at Prince Harry's threat to sue Her Majesty’s Government was a cause for concern. He seeks a judicial review to the decision to remove him from his UK police protection team. He claims it is too dangerous for him to visit Scotland Yard without Scotland Yard guards. Yesterday night, anger over the unprecedented legal threat to the government was expressed by sources who said: "Scotland Yard cannot be hired."

GMB was told by Mr Davies, Operational Unit Commander of the Royals, in 1995: "He chose to travel to America. That's his prerogative." It is our responsibility to make sure that any aspect of protection we examine for any member of the Royal Family is evaluated through multiple security agencies. This is the core. It has been decided that he will not be provided protection at this level because the risk is low. But if there is a risk, the Metropolitan Police will be bound by duty.

He continued, "Clearly it has been reviewed the same as other royal security have been done." For example, Princess Anne, his aunt, doesn't receive full-time protection, but she was almost kidnapped or murdered in 1974. Her protection officer was killed. Harry can't choose when he comes to the country. It has never happened before that someone pays for their security in this nation. It will be provided if it is required.

[From The Daily Mail]

They are mad at Harry now because Scotland Yard doesn’t have enough personnel. They're also mad because Harry would expect security to himself and his family. He would inform them in advance of when he is coming, and yet they wouldn't have enough people. I still don't get what the British protection sources are trying to say. Their argument might be "if Harry gets it, regular celebrities might expect to have their own protection!" Private citizens should be protected if they are under threat from white nationalists, Islamic terrorists, or any other group. Isn't it the best way to help the police?

I am scared that Harry doesn’t “deserve” protection. They think that no one is threatening Harry. It's not surprising that Harry has been a target for many years. Anyway, I wish Harry never returns.
