Royalists have already erupted with anger over Omid Scobie’s 'Endgame.

Originaly, Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame: Inside The Royal Family and Monarchy’s Fight for Survival was scheduled to be released this summer. Scobie announced this week that the book will be released in November. Scobie was writing new chapters on King Charles's coronation in May. The coronation was a non-event and that is newsworthy. You can tell Endgame will be a significant book in the royal story because the royal establishment launched a completely insane smear against Scobie. Richard Fitzwilliams was a huff and puff to the Daily Mail.

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal biographer, commented on MrScobie’s announcement: ‘He is writing about the Royal Family and he is also Harry and Meghan’s unofficial spokesperson. Some sensational details will follow. How reliable are their sources? Omid Scobie was not a reputable royal source. Finding Freedom, his book co-written by Carolyn Durand with which the Sussexes, despite their denials of cooperation, were found to have worked on, was a badly written, pathetically insufficient. Endgame is the title of his new book. Many might assume that the title is referring to the current situation of the Sussexes... Much of Endgame will not be taken seriously. This is likely a sensational effort to capitalize on the Sussexes’ rift with royal family. I expect it to be as trusted as anything coming from the Sussexes corner should be.

The Daily Mail

This is the main talking point: Scobie's a "Sussex Cheerleader" and the narrative of the book is entirely Sussex-based. If that's true (it isn't), then people are more likely to buy the book. All the other royals books have failed. Spare was one of the most successful books in recent years. Finding Freedom is a bestseller. Tom Sykes, at the Daily Beast, also had "friends" of Prince William and Charles throw tantrums over Endgame and Scobie:

Friends of Prince William have predicted that the royals would "keep calm" and continue to carry on despite what will likely be a highly-critical new book by Omid Scobie. The journalist who's sympathetic biography of the Sussexes Finding Freedom shook the royal establishment.

The Daily Beast has been informed that while Finding Freedom was almost exclusively told from the Sussexes point of view The Daily Beast does not believe the new book will be written in their voice. The Sussexes may not want to be portrayed as angry, especially after their recent drop in popularity, which some attribute to their constant complaining about the royals. Scobie called it "an unfiltered examination of the current state the Royal Family."

It's easy to imagine that being the subject of Scobie’s latest book would cause the royals to be nervous. But a friend of William told The Daily Beast the prince made it a point not to read Scobie’s first book and would not even attempt the second. The friend added that William had not read Harry's Spare book or watched the Netflix show the couple produced. The friend said that the idea that William would be distracted from work by thinking about Omid's book was fanciful. William's office refused to comment.

The Daily Beast asked about Scobie's book and the king’s office did not respond.

Scobie's close relationship with Team Sussex makes him a more potent threat than anonymous gossip in the media. Privately, the palace is not likely to be happy about his new book, given that Scobie's publishers expect it to generate more headlines.

The Daily Beast

LOL at William's friend's comments - William doesn't know Spare, hasn't seen the Netflix series, or read Finding Freedom. Yet William and Kate are always reacting to anything in those projects. You can tell, however, that Scobie is going to get the full Sussex treatment from the British and royal media. Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and the Royal Court are afraid of what Scobie's stories will be. They're also terrified that Scobie has more credibility than their hagiographers.
