Ah, so the palace did inform the media about the removal of the titles of the Sussex children's names?

This weekend Camilla Tominey published a Telegraph piece about Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Like many deranged haters she is performingly clutching her pearls at Lili's and Archies' birthright. She's trying to make it seem like Prince Harry or Meghan are making a bold statement by adhering to the Letters Patent in which all the children of the monarch are granted royal titles. Tominey and all the other royal reporters have been loosely playing with the fact King Charles could have used the titles of his grandkids in the online succession line on the royal website months back. They are still repeating the palace talk point that the Sussexes decided that the titles should be given to the children only recently. Remember that even though the palace has been giving chaotic briefings over the past week, they have known about Harry and Meghan's "decisions" for several months. This is not to mention the fact Charles should have simply referred Archie and Lili with titles that began last September. Here are some highlights from Tominey’s bizarre piece in The Telegraph

This sentence is very curious. The King could only have changed [Lili's and Archies' titles] by issuing second letters patent, which would strip them of their titles. This, despite palace assertions to the contrary. According to sources close to the Sussexes, they told the Firm before Christmas that the children would be taking their titles. A second statement was released by the couple on Wednesday, stating that "The children’s titles have been birthright since their grandfather became a monarch. This matter has been resolved for some time in accordance with Buckingham Palace." Harry & Meghan were said to be somewhat upset that the Royal Family's website hadn't been updated earlier. According to royal sources, they were still waiting for the official announcement from the couple.

The palace was aware of the christening announcement. According to one insider, the royal power that be knew the "Princess Lilibet” statement was coming due to internal "discussions." Although it isn't known if these conversations reached beyond the press offices of different parties to become a topic for family discourse, the Sussexes decision has implications for the future monarchy.

The slimmed-down monarchy! How can the King slim down his court when four non-working royals are using their titles which could lead to commercial opportunities? Whatever their motivation, Harry and Meghan are celebrities in America. There is no class system, but there is a hierarchy to fame and fortune. As Dr Craig Prescott, a Bangor University lecturer in Law, pointed out, "If they believe this may benefit Archie or Lilibet in future, is that worth the price of an increased public profile?" Are they willing to risk becoming curiosities? An American Prince and an American Queen?

Titles = public life?? Harry and Meghan have been very careful about their children's privacy and personal security. However, they don't seem to have considered the possibility that Archie or Lilibet might want to live a private life. How will their royal titles allow them to have freedom, to use a Sussex expression

Camilla is the focus of this announcement. This is all about Camilla?

The palace remains convinced that Meghan and her children will not be coming to the Chubbly. A save the date email has been sent to their Montecito homes. Does this mean that we will see Harry and Meghan at Westminster Abbey as well as Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie? It's not possible to predict it. Summing up the consensus behind palace walls, one royal insider remarked: "The thinking is that only Harry will come." With Archie turning four on the day of the ceremony, Meghan and the children have the perfect get-out-of-Coronation-free card.

[From The Telegraph]

"The King could only have changed [Lili's and Archies' titles] by issuing another letters patent which, despite briefings to that contrary, the palace insists he had no intention of doing." So... The palace was openly briefing journalists about Charles's plans to issue a second Letters Patent. Which he never intended to do. This sounds more like a Charles problem than a Sussex issue. Harry was better than Meghan at understanding what his father's kingship meant and what that would mean for his children. Charles waited to see his dogsh-t father's reaction, and he did exactly what Harry expected: he refused Archie and Lili their birthright titles publically until Harry challenged him.

Concerning all the "concerns” about Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie becoming American royalty, are we still pretending that a title of royalty equals public money and security? We have eyes Camilla Tominey. We know this is not true. Titles are only that, titles. Archie and Lili are American children who will live in America with their dogsh-t grandfather once in a while.
