Disney's Live-Action Lilo & Stitch Movie Casts Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover

remake

These two titles would appear in the same headline? Disney+'s remake "Lilo & Stitch", starring Zach Galifianakis, has now found its first human actor. The Hollywood Reporter revealed exclusively that Galifianakis had signed on for an undisclosed lead role. It's not unusual for him to be the first to be announced. The trade reports that Disney is "widely searching" for the ideal actresses to bring Lilo (and her sister Nani) to life. Disney has not commented on casting so we don’t know if Galifianakis or an alien like Jumba Jookiba and Pleakley will be speaking for Stitch. He could be playing a completely new character. This is the most recent news about the live-action remake. Production had been slowing down due to lack of updates. The creative team is working hard to make the production as successful as possible. It's not surprising that "Lilo & Stitch", a Disney+ exclusive, is still being produced. In an effort to balance the company's theatrical and streaming output, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed plans to restructure the company's approach. It's disappointing that "Lilo & Stitch" is not being released theatrically, given its popularity and financial success. Despite this, filming has not yet begun so there is still plenty of time for changes to the release plans.

What We Know About Lilo & Stitch

Galifianakis is the only actor currently attached to "Lilo & Stitch", but it's possible that other actors will be announced in future. Some of the creatives who will be remaking the animated film for a new audience are known to us. Dean Fleischer Camp is the director of "Marcel the Shell With Shoes On", an incredibly charming animated feature that has been nominated for a Best Animated Feature Oscar. The Hollywood Reporter states that Stitch will not be a stop motion creation like Marcel. Instead, he will be rendered using CGI. Although the original "Lilo & Stitch", was true to the Hawaiian culture, it did not have enough Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) creative input. It won't be that way with the remake. Chris Kekaniokalani Bright was its sole screenwriter. This will hopefully be extended to other aspects, including the casting of Lilo or Nani. Ryan Halprin, Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin are the producers currently. These are the 20 most underrated Disney movies you need to see

Film.
